Tianguis Chingón

Tianguis Chingón is a Mexican brand with a mission to boost the local economy and support small businesses and artisans throughout Mexico. They achieve this by opening seasonal markets, known as "tianguis", where these merchants can showcase their goods.

The term "tianguis" comes from the Nahuatl language "tianquiztli" and refers to the commercial and barter centers of pre-Hispanic Mexico, which still exist today. Tianguis Chingón seeks to honor the traditional roots of these markets as places of sacred commerce and magic, while also celebrating their colorful and folkloric essence.

To create a visual identity that reflects the brand's values of ancestral, simplicity, and friendliness, an iconography was developed featuring corn, cacao, and quetzal, elements that were present in pre-Hispanic tianguis.

The typography and colors also convey the organic and artisanal aspects of this legendary tradition.
